Description
Cinematic Versatility with a Fast, Parfocal Design
The DZOFilm Arles Zoom 25-75mm T2.6 FF Cine Lens combines the flexibility of a professional cinema zoom with the distinctive cinematic character of the Arles lens family. Designed for full-frame and large-format cameras, this 3x zoom covers a versatile 25-75mm focal range while maintaining a constant T2.6 maximum aperture throughout the zoom. Its parfocal design keeps subjects in focus while zooming, while the Arles series’ characteristic painterly rendering, warm natural colour and soft bokeh give footage a refined cinematic appearance. With interchangeable ARRI PL and Canon EF mounts, professional 0.8 MOD gearing and a compact 1.77 kg body, the Arles 25-75mm is suited to narrative filmmaking, commercials, documentaries, music videos, television and high-end content production.
Fast T2.6 Aperture Across the Entire Zoom Range
A key advantage of the Arles 25-75mm is its constant T2.6 aperture, allowing cinematographers to maintain consistent exposure and depth of field while moving through the entire zoom range. Unlike variable-aperture zooms, the lens does not require exposure compensation when transitioning from 25mm to 75mm.
The fast T2.6 aperture also provides useful low-light performance and allows filmmakers to achieve shallow depth of field when desired. Combined with the longer focal lengths available at the telephoto end, the lens can produce strong subject separation while maintaining the distinctive visual character of the Arles series.
G Master Optical Performance for Exceptional Detail
The FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS uses a sophisticated 24-element, 17-group optical design incorporating Super ED and ED glass elements to help suppress chromatic aberration while maintaining high-resolution performance across the frame. Sony’s Nano AR Coating II helps reduce flare and ghosting, preserving contrast and colour when shooting in challenging lighting conditions, including backlit wildlife and outdoor scenes.
The result is the high level of resolution expected from Sony’s G Master range, giving photographers plenty of detail for cropping distant subjects while maintaining impressive clarity.
Parfocal 25-75mm Zoom for Cinematic Flexibility
Covering a 3x focal range from wide-angle 25mm through to short telephoto 75mm, the Arles zoom provides a flexible single-lens solution for a broad range of production scenarios.
Its parfocal optical design maintains focus as the focal length changes, allowing filmmakers to perform controlled zooms without the subject drifting out of focus. The lens also incorporates a four-group synchronized zoom system designed to balance optical performance and mechanical precision. DZOFilm states that the design offers virtually imperceptible focus breathing, helping maintain consistent framing during focus pulls.
With a minimum focus distance of just 0.51 m (1.67 ft.), the lens can also be used for tighter compositions and close-up shots without requiring the camera to be positioned far from the subject.
Painterly Arles Rendering with Natural Colour
The Arles series is designed to deliver a distinctive cinematic look that sits between modern optical precision and classic character. The 25-75mm uses high-grade optical elements and a custom low-saturation blue coating designed to help control flare and ghosting while contributing to the lens’s characteristic rendering.
Warm, natural colour reproduction and smooth transitions help produce pleasing skin tones, while the lens’s 16-blade iris contributes to a rounded aperture and soft, natural-looking bokeh. This makes the Arles 25-75mm particularly suited to filmmakers looking for a cinematic image with texture and dimensionality rather than an overly clinical rendering.
Full-Frame Coverage with 8K Resolving Power
The Arles 25-75mm is designed to cover full-frame and large-format sensors with an image circle of 43.5mm. This provides compatibility with professional cinema cameras using large imaging formats while maintaining the lens’s cinematic characteristics across the frame.
DZOFilm’s optical design incorporates 22 elements in 8 groups, including ED and HRI optical elements, helping deliver high resolution while controlling aberrations and maintaining contrast. The lens is designed with sufficient resolving power for modern high-resolution cinema capture, including 8K workflows.
Professional Cine Mechanics and Precise Focus Control
Built specifically for cinema production, the Arles 25-75mm provides mechanically geared focus, iris and zoom controls rather than electronic photographic-style controls.
The focus ring offers a generous 270° rotation, giving cinematographers and focus pullers precise control during manual focus adjustments. The focus and iris controls use standard 0.8 MOD cine gearing, allowing compatibility with professional follow-focus systems, wireless lens motors and other cinema accessories.
The zoom ring provides 100° of rotation, allowing controlled manual zoom movements while maintaining consistent operation across the Arles zoom range.
Consistent Arles Zoom System for Multi-Lens Productions
The Arles 25-75mm forms part of DZOFilm’s new Arles Zoom system alongside the Arles 65-180mm T2.6 FF Zoom. Both lenses share a constant T2.6 aperture, 43.5mm image circle, 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gearing and consistent mechanical design.
Used together, the two lenses provide overlapping coverage from 25mm through 180mm, allowing productions to cover a substantial focal range while maintaining a consistent visual character and lens-control setup.
