The RED KOMODO 6K Cinema Camera delivers RED’s renowned cinema-grade image quality, colour science and RAW workflow in an exceptionally compact and versatile form factor. Designed for filmmakers who need a powerful cinema camera that adapts to a wide range of shooting environments, the KOMODO combines a 6K Super 35 global shutter CMOS sensor, a compact body, and flexible lens compatibility.
Its global shutter sensor captures every pixel of each frame simultaneously, significantly reducing motion distortion and rolling-shutter artefacts when shooting fast-moving subjects or with camera movement. This makes the KOMODO an excellent choice for narrative filmmaking, commercial productions, music videos, documentaries, action content and compact production setups.
The camera records 16-bit RAW R3D footage using REDCODE RAW, giving filmmakers extensive flexibility during post-production. Unlike traditional video formats where many image parameters are baked into the footage, the KOMODO’s RAW workflow preserves the original sensor data while recording colour and exposure information as metadata. This provides greater creative control when grading and finishing your footage.
The KOMODO also supports Apple ProRes recording, giving productions the flexibility to choose a workflow that suits their project and post-production requirements. Footage is recorded to CFast 2.0 media, while the camera can be powered using REDVOLT BP batteries or an external power source.
A built-in Canon RF-style lens mount provides access to a wide range of lenses and allows the use of various lens adapters, including EF, PL and Leica M mount options. This makes the KOMODO particularly versatile for productions where different lens systems may be required.
