The Used MOFAGE POCO II PL to L Mount Adapter is a professional cinema accessory designed to combine ARRI PL lens compatibility with Leica L-mount cameras, while adding a convenient rear drop-in filter system to the camera setup. Designed for filmmakers working with professional PL cinema lenses, the POCO II provides a practical way to introduce filtration into camera systems that may not have a built-in ND system. Its modular construction allows the lens mount and camera mount to be configured for different systems, while the integrated filter mechanism provides quick access to ND and creative filtration without requiring a traditional front-mounted filter solution.
PL Cinema Lenses to L-Mount Cameras
This configuration features an ARRI PL lens mount on the front and a Leica L camera mount on the rear, allowing compatible PL cinema lenses to be used on L-mount camera systems. The modular design means the POCO II’s front lens mount and camera mount can be replaced with other compatible configurations, providing additional flexibility for productions working across different camera and lens ecosystems.
Integrated Drop-In Filter System
One of the key features of the POCO II is its rear-mounted drop-in filter system. Filters can be quickly inserted and removed using the adapter’s release mechanism, allowing operators to change filtration without removing the lens or accessing a front-mounted matte box filter. The standard filter configuration includes a Variable ND 0.3–2.4, providing approximately 1–8 stops of exposure control, along with a Pure Clear filter. This makes the adapter particularly useful with cameras that don’t have an internal ND system.
Geared Variable ND Control
The built-in Variable ND can be adjusted through the adapter’s 0.8 MOD geared control, allowing it to be operated manually or integrated with compatible follow-focus or lens-control motors. This provides cinematographers with a practical way to make controlled exposure adjustments while maintaining a professional cinema rig configuration.
Expanded Lens Compatibility
The POCO II has been redesigned with increased internal clearance and supports lenses with a rear insertion depth of up to approximately 26mm. This expands compatibility compared with the original POCO system and allows the adapter to accommodate certain PL lenses with longer rear elements, including compatible anamorphic and other specialist cinema lenses.
Modular Cinema Design
The POCO II is built around a modular system, allowing the front lens mount and camera mount to be changed depending on the configuration required. This makes it a flexible accessory for production companies and rental departments working with multiple camera and lens platforms. The adapter is constructed from metal and includes a 1/4″-20 tripod mounting point, providing additional support when working with larger PL cinema lenses and production rigs.
