Description

Enhance the versatility of your Canon EF lenses with this Metabones T CINE Smart Adapter, allowing it to be mounted to Sony E Mount cameras with many perks (starting with the new positive-lock EF lens mount).

Communicated EXIF data such as the lens identification, focal length and aperture of up to two attached manual lenses can be stored for quick collaboration the next time they’re attached. When first mounting a lens, autofocus needs to be triggered twice for calibration and a third time to autofocus correctly.

Eye-AF, Aperture Preview as well as more than 50 other functions can be assigned to the “Focus Hold” button (on the Sony A9, A7 series, A6500 and A6300).

This adapter allows phase-detection to autofocus through the A9, A7RII, A7II, A6500 and A6300, whereas contrast-detection is not supported with the Sony A9. This adapter can however, keep up with the 10fps high-speed drive AF-C tracking of the Sony A9.

It supports both the Sony FS7 Mark II as well as the Sony E-mount teleconverter. Although, if a lens (and any attached EF Extender/teleconverter) holds a maximum aperture of less than f/8, then AF may not function properly. This T cine smart adapter can be used with the Sony E-mount 1.4x TC (model SEL14TC) in exchange for unsatisfactory AF and vignetting through some telephoto lenses.

It supports smooth iris rotation for lenses from Canon (2009+), Tamron (SP series 2013+) as well as Sigma (2016+). Cinema EOS lenses (CN-E Compact-Servo), as well as AF, power zoom and auto iris are all supported. Photography through Canon Compact-Servo Cinema lenses such as the CN-E 18-80mm T4.4, may be possible but slower than lenses designed for still photography. This adapter is compatible with EF and EF-S lenses, though there may be corner vignetting through some EF-S lenses as they usually cover a 1.6x crop image circle opposed to Sony’s APS-C 1.5x crop factor.
