Description

Complete 25-180mm Full-Frame Cinema Coverage

The DZOFilm Arles Zoom T2.6 FF Cine 2-Lens Bundle brings together the Arles 25-75mm T2.6 and 65-180mm T2.6 cine zooms to provide continuous, overlapping coverage from 25mm through 180mm. Designed for full-frame and large-format cinema cameras, both lenses feature a constant T2.6 aperture, parfocal operation, 43.5mm image circles, 16-blade irises and DZOFilm’s distinctive painterly rendering with rich, natural colour. The matched mechanical design, 0.8 MOD gearing and interchangeable ARRI PL/Canon EF mounts make the two-lens system well suited to narrative filmmaking, commercials, documentaries, music videos, television and other professional cinema productions.

Two Matched Zooms Covering 25-180mm

The bundle combines two complementary cinema zooms:

  • Arles 25-75mm T2.6: A 3x zoom covering wide-angle through short-telephoto perspectives.
  • Arles 65-180mm T2.6: A 2.8x zoom extending from medium-telephoto into long-telephoto territory.

The overlapping 25-180mm range allows cinematographers to move from establishing shots and environmental compositions to portraits, dialogue, compressed perspectives and detailed telephoto shots without changing to a completely different lens system. Both zooms maintain the same T2.6 maximum aperture and Arles visual character throughout their respective ranges.

Constant T2.6 Aperture Throughout Both Zooms

Both lenses maintain a constant T2.6 maximum aperture, allowing exposure and depth-of-field characteristics to remain consistent when zooming. This is particularly useful for controlled zoom movements and productions where maintaining visual continuity between focal lengths is important.

The fast T2.6 aperture also provides strong light-gathering capability for cinema production while helping create shallow depth of field and subject separation. At the longer end of the 65-180mm zoom, the combination of focal length and T2.6 aperture can produce pronounced background compression and isolation.

Parfocal Design for Controlled Zooms

Both Arles zooms use a parfocal optical design, allowing the subject to remain in focus as the focal length changes. This makes the lenses suitable for deliberate cinematic zooms as well as situations where reframing while maintaining focus is required.

The 25-75mm provides a 3x zoom ratio, while the 65-180mm provides a 2.8x ratio. Together they provide broad focal-length flexibility without sacrificing the manual control expected from dedicated cinema lenses.

Full-Frame and Large-Format Coverage

Both lenses provide a 43.5mm image circle, allowing coverage of full-frame and VistaVision-class large-format sensors. This makes the Arles Zoom system suitable for modern cinema cameras using larger imaging formats, while providing room for expansive compositions and detailed image capture.

DZOFilm’s four-group synchronized zoom design balances optical performance with a compact physical form, while the manufacturer specifies resolving capability suitable for 8K cinema workflows.

Distinctive Arles Cinematic Rendering

The Arles Zoom lenses carry the visual character established by the Arles prime series. A custom low-saturation blue coating helps control flare and ghosting while contributing to the lenses’ characteristic rendering.

The optical design is intended to produce warm, natural colour reproduction, smooth transitions and a painterly sense of depth. This provides a consistent visual character across both zooms, allowing filmmakers to move between the 25-75mm and 65-180mm lenses while maintaining a cohesive look.

Compact Construction for Mobile Cinema Production

Despite providing full-frame coverage and a constant T2.6 aperture, both lenses maintain relatively compact bodies weighing approximately 1.77 kg for the 25-75mm and 1.78 kg for the 65-180mm.

Their manageable form factors make the matched set suitable for handheld, shoulder-mounted, gimbal and drone-based cinema configurations. DZOFilm specifically positions the Arles Zoom system for mobile cinema applications where a balance between optical performance, zoom flexibility and physical size is important.

Built for Professional Production Workflows

The two-lens bundle is designed as a cohesive production system rather than simply two separate zoom lenses. Matching optical characteristics, aperture, image circle, iris design, gearing and physical handling allow cinematographers to move between focal ranges while maintaining a consistent operating workflow.

The 25-75mm is suited to wide, standard and short-telephoto compositions, while the 65-180mm extends the system into portrait, telephoto and compressed-perspective work. Together, they provide 25-180mm coverage with a constant T2.6 maximum aperture.
