Description
Used Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 Lens
The used NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 is a fast, versatile wide-angle prime lens designed for Nikon Z-mount full-frame cameras. Combining a natural 35mm perspective with a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens suits everything from environmental portraits and street photography to documentary, lifestyle, low-light, and video work. The 35mm focal length offers a natural field of view that feels immersive without being excessively wide, making it an excellent everyday lens for photographers and filmmakers who want to capture both their subject and the surrounding environment. On a full-frame FX-format camera, it provides a 63° angle of view, while on a DX-format camera it provides a 44° angle of view.
Fast f/1.4 Aperture
The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture gives photographers greater flexibility in challenging lighting conditions while allowing for a shallow depth of field and beautifully blurred backgrounds. The wide aperture is particularly useful for portraits, available-light photography, and cinematic video where subject separation and creative control over depth of field are important. The lens can also be stopped down to f/16, providing greater depth of field when required.
Ideal for Photography & Video
With its compact and lightweight design, the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 is particularly well suited to mobile video setups, including gimbals and camera cages. Its versatile focal length can be used for everything from closer subject work to wider establishing shots. The lens uses a stepping motor (STM) for fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus, making it well suited to video applications where smooth and quiet focusing is important. Internal focusing also means the lens does not change length during focusing.
Close-Focusing Capability
With a minimum focus distance of just 0.27m (0.89 ft), the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 allows you to get close to your subject while maintaining the environmental perspective of the 35mm focal length. This makes it useful for capturing details, textures, food, products, and intimate close-up shots.
Optical Design
The lens features 11 elements in 9 groups, including two aspherical elements, which help control optical aberrations and contribute to the lens’s compact design. A nine-blade diaphragm helps produce smooth, natural-looking out-of-focus areas when shooting at wider apertures.
