This Tiffen 4×4 Hard Edge Graduated 0.6 ND Filter will allow you to balance light absorption when two areas within your frame differ in exposure (such as the sky and ground in a landscape shot).
For example, with this filter in front of your lens, you can pull more detail from the sky while the foreground is correctly exposed. Normally, exposing for the foreground means the sky will be overexposed but if you expose for the sky, the foreground will be dark and underexposed.
