Next-Generation Stacked Sensor & Open Gate Shooting:
At the heart of the FX5 is a newly developed 16.6MP full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR2 processor and an integrated AI processing unit. This architecture unlocks 3:2 Open Gate recording in 5K up to 60fps, giving creators maximum flexibility to crop for horizontal, vertical, or anamorphic delivery in post-production. Furthermore, the FX5 introduces internal X-OCN RAW recording directly to CFexpress Type A cards alongside 4K recording at up to 120fps, bringing high-end cinema flexibility into a compact handheld body.
Expanded Latitude with Triple Base ISO & Dual Gain:
Designed for demanding lighting conditions, the FX5 offers exceptional noise control and up to 16 stops of dynamic range when utilizing its Dual Gain shooting mode. It features Triple Base ISO settings (ISO 800, 4000, and 12,800 in S-Log3), allowing cinematographers to capture clean, detailed imagery across bright daylight, ambient interiors, and extreme low-light environments without compromising dynamic range or color fidelity. S-Cinetone color science comes standard for beautiful, production-ready skin tones straight out of camera.
