Description
The Nikon Z50 is designed around Nikon’s revolutionary Z mount, the widest lens mount of any comparable camera system. A wider mount means more light, and more light means more of everything – sharpness, contrast, focusing speed, low light performance and image quality. WIth incredible video specs like 4K Ultra HD and time-lapse, in-camera editing, 1080p slo-motion (120 fps), vertical video and so much more, you’ll love creating and sharing your next show-stopper.
With the 20.9MP DX CMOS sensor, a roust EXPEED 6 engine and light-gathering advantages of the wider Z mount, photos and videos shot in low light look clean and professional.
20.9MP DX CMOS Sensor & EXPEED 6 Image Processor
The DX-format 20.9MP CMOS sensor is paired with the EXPEED 6 image processor which provides a versatile mixture of high sensitivity, nuanced image quality, and fast overall performance. At native values, the ISO has a sensitivity range from 100-51 200 which is suitable for working in a broad array of lighting conditions. It can also be expanded to 204 800 for extreme low-light shooting conditions. This mixture of sensor size and resolution contributes to producing a clean image with smooth colour transitions with reduced noise throughout the ISO range. In addition to benefiting image quality, the EXPEED 6 processor also affords a wealth of speed throughout the camera system, including full resolution continuous shooting at 11 fps and 8MP continuous shooting at up to 30 fps.
The sensor’s design also incorporates 209 hybrid autofocus points , which utilises both phase-detection as well as contrast detection methods to quickly and accurately focus both for video and for stills. The focusing system also supports Eye Detection AF, which uses facial recognition technologies to help lock focus on subject’s eyes.
4K Video Recording
Capable of capturing more than stills, the Z50 supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 30 fps and Fiull HD recording at up to 120 fps, for slow-motion effects. In-camera time-lapse shooting is also possible with the ability to produce a finished UHD 4K video file directly from the camera.
