Description
High-Output Full-Colour LED Lighting for Professional Film, Television, Studio and Location Production
The Litegear LiteMat Spectrum 8 Gen 2 RGB LED Light Panel is a powerful, ultra-thin professional lighting fixture designed for demanding film, television, stage, studio and location applications. With a large 40 × 40-inch surface and 400W nominal output, the Spectrum 8 provides broad, controllable illumination while retaining the lightweight, low-profile design that makes the LiteMat family easy to rig.
Offering a 2,000–11,000K colour temperature range, RGB colour control, full plus/minus green adjustment and 0–100% continuous dimming, the Spectrum 8 can adapt to a wide range of lighting environments. Its CRI and TLCI ratings of 95+ provide the colour accuracy required for professional image-making. The Gen 2 model adds eight large-format mappable pixels, smoother low-end dimming, precision-calibrated electronics and updateable pixel-driver firmware, giving lighting technicians extensive control over both conventional white light and creative colour effects.
Large-Format 400W RGB LED Source
The LiteMat Spectrum 8 is the largest fixture in the 2023 LiteMat Spectrum range, delivering 400W nominal output across its 40 × 40-inch surface. Its broad 53° beam angle creates a substantial light source suitable for key, fill, background and large-area illumination.
At 5600K, the fixture produces up to 14,579 lux at 1 metre without diffusion, while still maintaining the slim, 1-inch profile of the LiteMat design.
Full-Colour Control from 2,000K to 11,000K
The Spectrum 8 provides an exceptionally broad 2,000–11,000K CCT range, allowing you to match tungsten, daylight and other ambient sources or create deliberately warm and cool looks.
RGB control and six-colour wide-gamut hue and saturation adjustment provide additional creative flexibility, while full plus/minus green correction allows the light to be precisely matched to surrounding sources and camera white-balance settings.
Accurate Colour Reproduction
With an average CRI of 95+ and TLCI of 95+, the LiteMat Spectrum 8 is designed to provide accurate colour reproduction for professional camera work.
This makes it suitable for cinematography, commercial production, broadcast, interviews, studio work and other applications where reliable colour consistency is important.
Eight Mappable Pixel Zones
One of the major Gen 2 enhancements is the addition of eight large-format mappable pixels. These zones can be individually controlled to create colour gradients, effects and dynamic lighting patterns across the large 40 × 40-inch fixture.
The pixel architecture makes the Spectrum 8 useful not only as a powerful soft source but also as a creative lighting instrument for effects-driven productions.
Smooth 0–100% Dimming
The Spectrum 8 offers continuous 0–100% dimming when paired with a compatible LiteGear dimmer. The Gen 2 electronics provide smoother low-end dimming, giving operators greater precision when working at reduced output levels.
Ultra-Thin Design for Flexible Rigging
Despite its substantial output and 40 × 40-inch footprint, the LiteMat Spectrum 8 is only 1 inch / 25.4mm deep. This ultra-thin construction allows it to be positioned in locations where traditional fixtures may be difficult to accommodate.
The rigid construction and large LiteMount/kMount mounting system provide flexible rigging options for studio, stage and location applications.
AC/DC Operation
The Spectrum 8 is powered from 48V DC at 8.64A and is supplied with the LiteDimmer Spectrum AC/DC 400 controller. The controller accepts 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz and can also be used with a suitable 48V DC battery source for location work.
The Schuko version includes a Schuko mains power cable, making it particularly suitable for production environments using European-style power connections.
Built for Professional Production
The LiteMat Spectrum 8 is designed to withstand the demands of professional production while maintaining a lightweight, low-profile form factor. The fixture has an IP20 rating, passive cooling and an estimated 50,000-hour LED lifetime.
Its operating temperature range extends up to 50°C, while the fixture weighs approximately 9.6kg.
