A Revolutionary AF system that is fast, accurate and precise whether using the optical viewfinder or the 3.1- inch touchscreen. Bursting at the seams with new technology, a dedicated CMOS sensor is used solely for autofocus which improves the accuracy, precision and allows for more focusing points. Taking care of the AF processing is a dedicated DIGIC 8 processor which only caters to the AF when the optical viewfinder is in use. Identifying different sports is possible with the deep-learning algorithms programmed into the 1DX MKIII. Eye and Face detection has been joined by advanced tracking that tracks athletes even when they are wearing goggles or a helmet. Boasting 191 AF points with 155 of them being cross-type for extra sensitivity, ideal for on-point focus when shooting fast-moving subjects in low light conditions. Dual Pixel CMOS AF is also implemented in the 1DX MkIII which sees focus capable pixels over the entire height of the frame with 90percent of its width.
Shoot full-frame 4K video at 60fps and record footage internally using the 10-bit HEVC/H.265 codec with C-log or 12-bit Raw. 5.5K Raw Video can also be recorded internally straight to the CFexpress cards which deliver unprecedented image quality. More natural colour gradation and dynamic range which lets you see detail in the highlights and shadows that are 12 stops apart. Movie Digital IS with an effective 5-axis image stabilisation when shooting handheld smooths out shake. The advanced mode detects and corrects for motions such as walking with the camera or tracking subjects.
