Description

The Atlas Orion 21mm offers the widest horizontal field of view of any Cinemascope format 35mm motion picture camera lens, and is optimized for use on both film and digital sensors. The Orion represents a previously unattainable wide-angle anamorphic field of view using a front anamorphic system, with a pleasing level of distortion, in a lightweight and compact form factor that will not encumber cinematographers.

Vintage Features: waterfall bokeh; streak flare; disproportionate perspective magnification; spherical aberration; pleasing barrel distortion; gentle contrast

Modern Features: crisp flat-field performance when stopped down to a T2.8 or further; fast T2 aperture; mechanically dependable design standardised across all focus lengths; unified focus and iris position reduces need for adjustment when switching focal lengths; standardised 114mm outer diameter for easy use with many matte boxes and filters
