This Leica S is a medium format DSLR camera for the experienced professional cinematographer. With a powerful Maestro image processor it masters a variety of shooting applications such as shooting 4K video at 24 fps, 1080p video at 30 fps and high resolution Leica Pro Format photos. This can be seen through the 3″ LCD monitor or optical viewfinder. The 3″ LCD display can show focus and exposure through colour and graphs for advanced scene analysis. There’s even a predictive autofocus mode that compensates for subject movement during exposure. A dual-axis spirit level forms part of this camera to help you keep your shots straight. The 7500 digital/analogue converters in parallel and 2 GB buffer memory allows for a record setting 3.5 fps burst shoot. This camera accommodates one SD-type memory card as well as one CompactFlash-type memory card for versatility and storage overflow or instant back-up. Using the Leica S App, you can access the camera via Wi-Fi for remote control or file transfer. A USB 3.0 port is also available for transferring files or you can simply connect a Mini HDMI and stream uncompressed footage directly to a recorder. Surpassing expectations, this Leica S promises crisp, high quality shots thanks to its large 37.5MP 30x45mm Leica Max CMOS image sensor and omission of a low-pass filter. Its GPS links location to the data of each image for mapping out shoots. All this is contained in a weather-sealed, die cast magnesium body, safe from dust and moisture.
